Semi-Annual Sonar Survey of Intakes for Obstructions

SCOPE

Dolan Research, Inc., in conjunction with S.T. Hudson Engineers, has conducted a 1,200 kHz and 600 kHz side scan sonar survey of the three intake systems at the PSEG Salem, N.J., Nuclear Power Station on a semi-annual basis since 2001. The survey data are used to track and identify waterborne obstructions that might potentially restrict the inflow of water at the intakes.
